Jiu Jitsu uses distance control, timing, angles, and leverage to survive using 4 basic steps. First closing the distance and taking the fight to the ground. Then passing the opponents legs or passing the gaurd. Next step is to control and create pressure, forcing an untrained attacker to make the wrong move. Finally use submissions to end the fight.
